the Schmidt winery in Eichstetten near Freiburg introduces itself:
For the 2013 grape harvest, the rudder went into the hands of the second generation Schmidt. Helen and Martin now actively shape the interests of the winery. It's good to know that the
first generation is always behind them and still helps out a lot, be it in the vines, in the cellar, in the wine sales or in child care.
Waltraud and Richard have been cultivating the seven hectares of vineyards according to ecological standards since 1987, the year the winery was founded.
We are and remain a member of the ECOVIN association.
Our wines should be distinctive, independent and simply delicious. While enjoying our wines you also support our striving for an intact nature.
Eichstetten is known for its long tradition of organic farming and we are proud to be part of this history. Today, 30% of the agriculturally used area in Eichstetten is managed according to
ecological guidelines.
Bio from the beginning means for us:
- We make organic from deepest conviction, not from marketing or other trends.
- Good quality starts with organic.
- Health and an intact nature are closely related to what we buy, eat and drink.
We are grateful to be allowed to take up this great idea and work it out further.
We are happy if you enjoy our wines.
Sincerely, Helen and Martin Schmidt
