Info

Nectarines were already known in China, Persia and Greece at the turn of the century. They have been cultivated in England since the 17th century. It has only really become popular in recent decades. It is mainly grown in Italy, France, Spain, Chile and South Africa.
Depending on the variety and ripeness, the flavour of the nectarine is tart or sweet and contains only a little fruit acid.

They contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6 and C as well as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, potassium and sodium.

Depending on the degree of ripeness, nectarines can be ripened at room temperature. Once the desired degree of ripeness has been reached, store in the fridge to extend the shelf life by up to two weeks. It is best to store them in an air-permeable container so that they do not lose their flavour.
