The bell apple probably originated in southern Germany and Switzerland. The apple is a winter apple and takes its name from its bell shape.
The bell apple is a green-yellow apple with firm flesh and a fresh, tart flavour. The apple is mainly used as a dessert apple, storage apple and cake apple.
The bell apple is rich in vitamin C and folic acid.
The shelf life of the apple is excellent. You can easily store it until June if you keep it in a cool place. The skin often changes colour from greenish to reddish during storage.
